The 1801 FPI allows the use of less expensive, lighter Tactical Fibre Cable for the uncompressed transport of up to 4K video over distances of up to 10Km. Powered from a local mains supply or battery pack, it provides 100W of camera power over SMPTE cable and has up to a further 100W of power available for accessories local to the unit. When using the 1801 FPI, the customer must provide a standard ST fiber to SMPTE 311 converter. These are readily available from suppliers such as Canare, Belden, Multidyne or others.
